The Rakuten Eagles said Saturday they have acquired New York Yankees right-hander Darrell Rasner and Philadelphia Phillies minor league right-hander Matt Childers.
Rasner, 27, will be paid 100 million yen while Childers, 30, will earn a salary of 50 million yen. Both pitchers' contracts are for one year with a team option for a second.
Rasner went 5-10 with a 5.40 ERA in 24 games for the Yankees in 2008 and has a 9-15 record with a 5.00 ERA in four major league seasons.
Childers, who is 0-0 with a 9.69 ERA in 11 games in his major league career, went 3-5 with 20 saves in 53 games this past season for the 2008 World Series champions' Triple-A affiliate.
