The Hiroshima Carp on Friday announced the acquisition of right-hander Scott Dohmann, who spent most of the 2008 season at Triple-A Durham in the Tampa Bay Rays organization.
Dohmann went 2-0 with a 6.14 ERA in 12 relief appearances for the Rays early in the 2008 season before being sent to the minor leagues. His one-year contract with Hiroshima is worth 44 million yen plus performance bonuses.
The 30-year-old has a 9-8 career record in the major leagues with a save and a 5.32 ERA in 164 games, all in relief, from 2004-2008 for the Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals and Rays.
