Seibu Lions right-hander Hideaki Wakui had a rough outing in his
return from the World Baseball Classic on Friday.

Wakui gave up four runs -- all in the fifth inning -- and 12
hits in five innings of work in an 8-5 win over the Yomiuri Giants at
Seibu Dome.

Yomiuri right-hander Hiroshi Kisanuki, who is vying for a spot
in the starting rotation, was charged with five runs in five innings.
Dicky Gonzalez was also shaky, allowing three runs in three innings
for Yomiuri.

At Yahoo Dome, Nobuhiro Matsuda singled in the game-winning run
in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the Softbank Hawks a 7-6
victory over the Hiroshima Carp.

Matsuda, who hit a walk-off solo homer a day earlier against the
Hanshin Tigers, went 2-for-5 with a homer and four RBIs.

Colby Lewis gave up six runs on nine hits in 5-2/3 innings for
Hiroshima.

At Nagoya Dome, left-hander Kazuki Kondo did not allow a runner
to reach third base over six shutout innings as the Orix Buffaloes
beat the Chunichi Dragons 3-1.

Tuffy Rhodes went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Orix. Chunichi
right-hander Kazuki Yoshimi allowed two runs and struck out six in
six innings.
