Orix adds former Orioles shortstop Bynum

The Orix Buffaloes said Thursday they have acquired former
Baltimore Orioles shortstop Freddie Bynum.

The 29-year-old Bynum has a .234 career batting average with six
homers and 32 RBIs in 188 major league games. He was with the Orioles
in 2007-08.

Bynum spent the entire 2009 season with minor league affiliates
of the Washington Nationals.
