TOKYO, March 11 (21:52) Kyodo

Yomiuri Giants right-hander Seth Greisinger has undergone
endoscopic surgery on his pitching elbow, the club said Thursday.

The two-time Central League wins leader will miss some time
early in the season starting March 26 as he requires about three
weeks before he will be able to start playing catch.

Greisinger hurt his elbow late last season, sat out the
postseason and left the team last week to have the elbow examined in
the United States.

''We just have to make do without him for the time being,'' said
head coach Haruki Ihara. ''But I'm sure someone will step up and fill
his spot.''

Greisinger went 13-6 with a 3.47 ERA in 25 starts last year. He
has a career record of 46-23 in three seasons in Japan.
