Yakult Swallows' South Korean closer Lim Chang Yong said Monday he still wants to play in the majors -- he's just willing to wait until 2013 before making his dream come true.
Lim, 34, re-signed with the Swallows on a three-year deal worth 1.42 billion yen a day earlier but he has the option to extend the contract in the third year in 2013, as long as both parties are in agreement.
''I'm still young. I want to make the move after three years,'' said Lim, who had a choice of testing the major league market during this offseason but decided to remain in more familiar territory.
The South Korean right-hander said his Yakult teammates, who asked him to return next year, helped him make his decision.
''Even when I was in Korea no one told me that,'' Lim Said. ''I want to become the saves leader while I'm still with Yakult and become a champion.''
