The Yokohama DeNA BayStars said Wednesday they have agreed to terms with former San Diego Padres infielder Oscar Salazar.
The 33-year-old Venezuelan had a tryout at the Central League club's training camp in Ginowan, Okinawa Prefecture.
Salazar last played in the major leagues in 2010, when he batted .237 with three home runs and 19 RBIs in 85 games for the Padres.
He is a career .269 hitter in a total of 199 major league games with the Detroit Tigers in 2002, the Baltimore Orioles in 2008-09 and the Padres in 2010.
