The Lotte Marines announced the acquisition of Mexican infielder Luis Cruz on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old Cruz signed a one-year contract worth roughly 75 million yen with additional incentives. This past season, he split his time with the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, batting .145 in 61 games.
Cruz, who has primarily played third and short, has a career big league batting average of .234 over 195 games.
The Marines also said they have re-signed first baseman Craig Brazell and right-handed reliever Carlos Rosa for next season. Terms of their deals were not announced.
