Trip Testimonials

Tom from New York said I should include a testimonial section.  He's a big wheel banker so I tend to do what he says.

We've never hinted at or asked anyone to write anything along these lines.  All came from spontaneous letters or e-mails.  I remain grateful for the comments and work hard to live up to their sentiments.

And, by the way, if you ever want to speak or write to anyone who went on the trip in order to get opinions for yourself, let me know and I'll put you in touch.

"Your idea to combine baseball and travel in Japan is more than just a tourist adventure. You provide travelers an insight that they simply couldn’t otherwise get without your expertise and enthusiasm."

"We had thought of it as a once-in-a-lifetime trip, but now we want to go back and do it again.  Maybe one of these years.  Thanks for a fabulous tour!"

"The baseball...the unique culture...Hiroshima...the good group of fellow travelers.  You were right, your tour attracts nice people.  Great trip!  I really enjoyed it."

"Just a note to let you know that we made it home in one piece. Well, actually, more than one piece since we both took a large bit of Japan home with us in our hearts."

"It was a pleasure meeting you all. I knew the trip would be interesting, but I NEVER expected to meet such a terrific group of people from all parts of the country. Yes, it was a tour group. However, Bob and Mayumi's low-key and relaxed approach to travel and accommodations made the experience so much more personal."

" It is already a month since the trip and am still sky high. Thanks for the great trip!"

"Can't thank you enough for a great trip.  What you and Mayumi do is truly remarkable.  I had a blast.  Spent my extra days after the trip walking about Tokyo and really seeing a lot since by doing the tour with you first I learned how to get around.  It's a trip I'll never forget."

"I figured this was the trip of a lifetime when I left, but hardly a day goes by when I don't try to figure out how to go again someday."

“The trip to Japan far exceeded my expectations.  Your efforts to plan and execute the logistics of everything we did was flawless.  Where do I begin to thank you?  I feel as though you gave me a gift.  You opened a door and helped me experience a place and people in a way that I might not otherwise had the opportunity to do without you.”

"The photos I took are just okay, but the memories are vivid.  Thanks for the great trip and the memories I will cherish.

"The trip was superb. Since returning, whenever I have a moment to think about it, I ask myself, 'What constructive feedback or ideas can I give Bob for future trips?'  But, you've left me speechless. The JapanBall experience was ideal. To try and offer critical comment would be an exercise in nitpicking."

"Great trip!  I really enjoyed it.  The baseball.  The unique culture.  The Hiroshima side trip.  The fine group of fellow travelers.  Thanks for a wonderful trip and the memories I'll cherish."

"I'm at the Tokyo airport internet lounge getting ready to take off after going to all the ballparks after the tour.  I had so much fun.  Thanks for everything.  It was a blast.  You prepared me well during the tour to be by myself for the rest of my days in Japan.  I'll be back next year."

"I can't believe it's been TWO YEARS since I joined Mayumi, you and a terrific group of people for an amazing experience exploring both baseball and culture in Japan.

"I recently found myself stranded, because of engine trouble, overnight at Tokyo Narita Airport on my way to Beijing.

"As I stood waiting to go through Japan customs, I flipped through the pages of my passport to see that it was two years to the day that I entered Japan for the first time, standing in this same airport, and waiting to start what I describe as the most unique and rewarding baseball experience possible today."

And this from Banker Tom:

"The website does not truly reflect how great this trip is, other than promising a truly remarkable time (I'm still remarking on a daily basis).

"I asked Maria about going again someday.  She said she'd like to see Mayumi and you again, but we now know how to get around Japan by ourselves.  Good point!   Wasn't that one of your goals?"

(Indeed, Tom, that's one of our goals.)
